You can reach Drake Bay by domestic flight, by driving to Sierpe and taking a boat, or by combining public transport with the boat transfer from Sierpe. The boat ride from Sierpe to Drake Bay is one of the most common arrival options and takes around 1.5 hours.
Yes. Drake Bay has a local airport (DRK), and flying is the fastest way to arrive from San José. From the airport, visitors usually continue by taxi or local transfer to Agujitas.
A 4×4 is strongly recommended if you plan to drive, especially because access roads may include muddy sections and river crossings depending on the season and weather conditions.
Unless otherwise specified, most tours depart from Agujitas Beach in Drake Bay. This is the usual meeting point for Corcovado tours such as Sirena and San Pedrillo, as well as other boat-based excursions.
